•   Autonomy and mobility is being shaped every day.   The most profound solutions will be created by those who connect.

      • The Case for an Autonomous Vehicle Alliance

The Autonomous Vehicle ecosystem is in a similar stage of development as found in the Internet ecosystem, circa 2000; - Technological and regulatory progress is being made, but lacks the benefit of clearly-understood and -defined consumer value propositions; - The introduction of Autonomy into the current automotive product mix yields a complicated set of consumer expectations; and - The solutions most likely to correctly address and effectively meet consumer needs are least likely to be delivered by a single company, channel or industry.   A collaborative alliance is most effective if it addresses the perspectives of multiple ecosystem stakeholders, including but not limited to: - Original Equipment Manufacturers (GM, Ford, Toyota, Navistar, Daimler, Audi, Honda, Navistar, PACCAR et al); - OE enablers (Visteon, Bosch, Delphi, Google, Apple, Denso, Magna, Continental, et al); - Insurance providers (Allstate, State Farm, etc.); - Public entities (DOT, NHTSA, NTSB, etc.); and - ‘Latent’ stakeholders (AARP, startups, Venture Capital, Fedex/UPS, etc.).   Key goals for the Alliance: - Describe the ‘guiding principles’ for players in the Autonomy ecosystem; - Understand how an Autonomy ecosystem currently works and is expected to change as the Autonomous Vehicle marketplace evolves; - Describe the most consumer-relevant Use Cases around Autonomy; and - Understand the ecosystem business opportunities related to the Autonomous Vehicle marketplace.

      • We've done this before.

Our work with ground-breaking collaborative research started by understanding the impact broadband internet access and connectivity would have on how we live.   Autonomous vehicles will impact our world in much the same way, and will require a similar collaborative effort.

      • Consumer and User Research

AVA research efforts are defined and guided by members. See below for a partial list of complete and in-progress projects.

      • Member Meeting Calendar

AVA events bring together thought leaders from our membership and invited guests to collaborate, identify future research initatives, and review completed AVA work.   May, 2017 Location TBD   November 17, 2016 Hosted by Allstate Northbrook, Il   May 26, 2016 Hosted by General Motors Detroit, Mi
